Hertford -
Hertford hosts a regular Farmers Market on the second Saturday of every month.
There are up to 30 stalls representing local producers of beef, lamb, cheese, bread, vegetables, relishes, jams, eggs, herbs, cakes, juices, a hog roast and many more including a few craft stalls.
The market can be found in the suitably named Market Place, behind Shire Hall opposite Salisbury Square from 8.30am until 1.00pm.
In July 2005 we were awarded a Certificate of Accreditation from The National Farmers' Retail and Market Association (FARMA) declaring that all produce was sourced from within 30 miles of Hertford and was truly a local market. In that month FARMA conducted a survey amongst visitors and the results showed amongst other things that the Farmers Market attracted over 5000 visitors bringing with them an increase in expenditure throughout the town centre.
For more information regarding renting a stall at Hertford Farmers Market please contact Carole Skidmore at East Herts Council.
